Anxiety is
on the rise due to the overwhelming increase in the number of confirmed cases
of Covid-19 being reported in the news.
However,
these numbers need not be as scary as they appear. Testing has increased
dramatically and so we now have a better picture of the number of people
infected. They were most likely infected last week when the numbers reported
were lower but now, we know about them.
Also be
assured that the vast number of people infected with only show light symptoms.
Over 95% will fully recover and not even need hospitalization. For those hospitalized there is reassuring
evidence that some of the drugs being used are working to eliminate the virus.
We will get through this together.
Our God is a
mighty God and our faith in Him must never waver. It is times like this that
test our faith, but the testing of our faith only strengthens it and produces a
better hope.
Psalm 91:6-10 (NASB)
6 Of the pestilence that stalks in darkness, Or of the destruction that lays waste at noon.
7 A thousand may fall at your side And ten thousand at your right hand, But it shall not approach you.
8 You will only look on with your eyes And see the recompense of the wicked.
9 For you have made the LORD, my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place.
10 No evil will befall you, Nor will any plague come near your tent.

I read an interesting verse this morning - 2 Peter 2:19b - for by what a man is overcome, by this he is enslaved. And then read a comment from a study I'm doing, paraphrased: let God take up so much space in your thoughts that there will be an ever-shrinking space for your fears. God spoke straight to my heart. I've been so distracted by what is going on instead of making Him the priority each and every day. Feeling grateful. Thank you again for the blog.
