April 10 Devotion

The “world” is rightly concerned about those who have died and are dying from the Covid-19 virus.

However as “Christians” we are today concerned with only the death of one man, and that man was Jesus Christ.

Today is “Good Friday” and many in the “world” cannot understand why we call it that.

Again as “Christians” we know why we call t Good Friday. It is the day Christ died that we might live forever.

Jesus died for a debt He did not owe, to pay a debt we could not pay. That is why this is Good Friday.

Because of the fallen “world” we live in, we all must one day die a physical death. That is a fact.

But whether it is by some virus or by natural causes and old age, the important this is what happens after that.

I for one know who I serve and know that the instant I leave this world I will be transformed and transported to a world where my Savior reigns and the things of this world no longer exist.

No tears, or pain or death. Do I deserve this new world? Certainly not! But because of the grace of God it is what all believers in Jesus Christ are promised.

Let nothing in this world distract you from the gift you receive as a child of God

Romans 5:8 (NASB)
8  But God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.

This too shall pass.
