April 6 Devotion

Because He lives, I can face tomorrow

because He lives all fear is gone

Because I know, who holds the future

My life is worth the living, just because He lives.

We often think of our hymns as just something we sing on Sunday mornings. However most of the hymns we sing are based on solid doctrine.

 

They were written to encourage and strengthen the church.

 

While I always tell people to read and study the bible, at times I often just sit and read our hymnal.

 

Hymns like, It is well, A Mighty Fortress, Blessed assurance were all written during times of distress and anxiety and express the calm the writers found in our Lord and Savior and did the best they could to put those assurances into words and music.
